I read in the Frostproof News that Kay Hutzelman stated that $7,500,000 of grant money plus $500,000 of local funds have been allocated toward renovations to the Ramon Theater. Tell me it ain’t so.
Well after reading the Ledger article by Bill Bair this morning, it ain’t so. Bill has the renovation work at $1,300,000… from the Ledger: (After $1.3 million worth of renovations, the Ramon Theater is coming back to life.
The Chamber of Commerce committee that has overseen the restoration plans to show off its work with “It’s Showtime,” a gala celebration at 6 p.m. Jan. 25.
The event will include hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, dancers and a piano performance by Felt, said Donna Kelly, who has been hired as the theater director). The complete article may be found HERE.

Some time during the middle of the night, unknown suspect(s) cut a fence and entered the private property located at 155 Sand Pine Trail in Frostproof, removed three horses, loaded them onto a horse trailer, and fled undetected. All three horses are AQHA team penning/reining horses. One horse is a dark brown bay mare, 15 hands high, medium build, with a sock on her left rear foot, star and snip on her face. Her name is Missy. One horse is a brown sorrel mare, 15.2 hands high, stocky build, with a WW brand on her left hip, socks on both feet, and a broken stripe on her face. Her name is Harley.
